Jim -- I hope you can get to town soon and get some coffee!
NYgal -- I am glad to hear your plans are still afloat! Like everyone has said, there are Dr's in Virginia! Hopefully everything will work out for you. How much of a leave time to you need when renting a new place and giving notice where you are? I am guessing 1 month, but sometimes it is different. I sure hope everything works out for you.
Jean - I am glad the pet-sitting went well!
MEO -- So glad you are enjoying Arizona!
I was reading a thread posted this morning about a young fellow in his 20's talking about the financial pressures he is having keeping up with his "crowd" who like to spend big bucks on entertainment every week. Kind of interesting! I am thinking it is a guy but not absolutely certain about that.
I'm heading out to the grocery to get my wife some chicken gizzards for her dinner tomorrow (don't know what she sees in them). Your comments on coffee made me take a look at the pantry and I'm running low. Don't want to run into the situation in a couple of days of not having any. So the grocery list is chicken gizzards and coffee and something for lunch.
Wow I'm under a complete burn ban where I live. No bbq grills, no smoking outside, no open flames at all. No fireworks ( local fireworks shows cancelled).
The grasslands and scrub behind me is crunchy dry, right now it's 103 degrees 45 mph wind and 4% humidity.

Arizona has been under a burn ban since Memorial Day. It is so dry here I know they are really worried about wildfires and we've had some already. Most of the forests are closed to everything and everybody. We will have our fireworks. They are in a place where there is no danger of fires. It's been hot and dry but, thankfully, not a lot of wind.
I have a story the polar opposite. When I moved into my current home, I needed things for it. I found a small trash can for under the sink that was specifically made to hold the plastic grocery bags. It had 2 cut outs on either side for the handles to fit into. I thought it was so cute, I'd never seen one like this before and it was perfect for me. I was tickled (it doesn't take much to make me happy, I admit). LOL
My daughter is waaaaaay serious. I showed her my trash can and said with a laugh, "isn't it adorable"? Her response........"Mother, it's a trash can." I then said to her "you have no sense of humor".
I still am tickled with my trash can, it is useful and so cute........
We have that same small plastic trash bin under our sink. Yes, it's perfect for the plastic trash bags. Our problem is that the plastic trash bags aren't available at any of the grocers here anymore. They used to be given out free as in "Paper or plastic?" but those days are gone here.
Do you get the bags at your grocer or do you pay for the bags at a home goods or other store?
It’s been a tough year for pets. I went over early to the kid’s to stay with the grandkids this morning as they slept and the kids took their spaniel to the vet hospital for a last goodbye. We all knew it was coming, but it still hurts. She was a puppy mill rescue and got a second chance at a great life with a loving family. Both grandkids have grown up with her always around, she’ll be missed.
80 degrees outside at 2am, my little window air conditioner in the bedroom was only able to cool it down to 74 in there. Not much sleep last night it was so hot. This morning dense smoke from the wildfires cough cough.
